Geronimo :: Volker Behrens
Download the print size image here.

Material: 3mm or 4mm paxolin, 2mm or 3mm gfec

Distance: 60-80m

[2005] The Geronimo can be considered a boomerang for LD beginners. It goes a bit further than an Aussie Round boomerang, with weights and tuning you may approach 90m. We suggest trying a range of materials to get a feel. A weight on the tip of the leading wing will increase range. The boom is ideal to get into tuning of LD boomerangs. Play around to see how you obtain a circular flight path or a more elliptical trajectory. This gets you prepared for the "real" stuff.

Be aware though that with gfec, frequent (re)tuning or, in particular, change of tuning will lead to deteroration of the material stiffness, due to delamination of the epoxy matrix from the fibres on a micrometer scale.
